Pineapple

This week the students used the sight-size method of drawing at the easels to draw a pineapple in graphite on white paper. Swan

Swans were our inspiration in art class this week! The students used the sight-size method of drawing at the easels to draw a swan in graphite on white paper. Bird and Nest

This week in art class, the students drew a bird in pencil on drawing paper. They also drew a nest with eggs in it.  Then they transferred their drawings onto heavier watercolor paper and painted their drawings with colorful watercolor paint. Great job!

Portrait of a Man

This week my advanced students continued their study of drawing portraits from famous historical artists. This week we drew from a portrait by John Singer Sargent. Tropical Fish

This week in art class, the students used the sight-size method of drawing at the easels to draw a tropical fish and coral in white pastel pencil on black paper.  Then they colored their tropical underwater scenes with oil pastels.  Stunning!

My advanced students are studying and drawing portraits from famous historical artists. This week we drew from a portrait by John Singer Sargent. Still Life

Using our sight-size method of drawing at the easels, the students sketched a fruit still life with charcoal on canvas paper and then painted their fruit with acrylic paints. Great job!
