Swan

Swans were our inspiration in art class this week! The students used the sight-size method of drawing at the easels to draw a swan in graphite on white paper. Then they transferred their drawings onto watercolor paper and painted their swans in watercolor paint. Great job! Scroll through the slideshow to see a finished swan watercolor painting.

Flowers

We’re already dreaming of spring, and this week we drew beautiful flowers! The students used the comparative method of drawing to draw a flower large-scale on a piece of black paper. Tropical Fish

This week in art class, the students used the sight-size method of drawing at the easels to draw a tropical fish and coral in white pastel pencil on black paper.  Then they colored their tropical underwater scenes with oil pastels.  Stunning!

Owl

Right before Halloween, the students drew a flying owl! They were able to study out the detail of the feathers and then color their drawings in colored pencil. Great job! Scroll through the slideshow to see the students at work on their owl drawings!

Pears

Using our sight-size method of drawing at the easels, the students sketched 2 pears in pencil on canvas paper and then painted the pears with acrylic paints. Great job!

Seashell

Summer is here! This week in art class, the students drew a seashell on a beach in pencil on watercolor paper. Then they painted their seashells with watercolor paint. Scroll through the slideshow to see a finished seashell painting. Nice job!

Pandas
